Hydatid Cyst of Submandibular Region

Introduction Hydatid cysts in the neck are relatively exceptional. We report a rare case of hydatid cyst localized right submandibular region with second lung discussing diagnostic and management algorithm brief review literature. Case Report A 6 years old boy presented to us Gauhati Medical College & Hospital gradually enlarging painless swelling since last 4 months. The patient was thoroughly evaluated. Imaging FNAC performed. Suspected common locations were also screened prior surgery. He treated total pericystectomy followed up regularly. Discussion disease is widespread public health problem developing countries. possibility disease, especially endemic regions, may always be considered differential diagnosis mesenchymal neoplasms or soft tissue cystic masses neck. Radiologic imaging modalities such cases mandatory for diagnosis. prognosis excellent removal without rupture.
